After watching a TEDx talk about extreme productivity by Mark Adams, head of Innovation at VICE, i was motivated to create a personal contract for things I wanted - no, needed - to stop putting off and accomplish. . In the video, Mark talks about creating a personal contract because of the implication it provides, where if we do not meet a certain criteria, we must pay a penalty, and that the fear of loss IS GREATER than our desire to succeed. . So in order to better motivate ourselves we need to be prepared to lose something in the future if we want to succeed today. . For me, if I do not fulfill my goals, I’m going to burn one of my paintings. Extreme, I know, but I guess we’ll see how well it works... 🤔
